About
vStatik is a videoblog featuring the
ambient video paintings produced by
Alberto Monteverdi. Videos come mainly from unwanted or improvised shooting, garbage footage, or apparently uninteresting still life imagery, and share a series of common technical traits:
- fixed camera, mostly handheld
- intended to be viewed on the web in looping mode
- no editing, neither video nor audio: just the In and Out cuts
With this "static" approach to montage, I try to experiment with a language that blurs the boundaries between video, photography and
musique concrète, by concentrating on such aspects as frame composition, light, and the rhythmic occurrence of field sounds. But, most of all, I wish to show some curious, engaging and sometimes witty slices of ordinary life, that usually nobody would care about.
Schedule
New videos are posted weekly, usually on Fridays. To easily keep track of updates, I suggest you to subscribe to the
vStatik.org RSS feed.
